The Most Beautiful Race in the World
The Mille Miglia is perhaps the most legendary classic car "race", and while many of us dream about participating, one Hemmels client made it a reality.
This year the Mille Miglia was based on the original race route through the heart of Italy, along the streets of Rome, the hills of Tuscany, past lakes and vineyards, and through tucked-away villages.
Over 4 days, drivers and passengers were a motoring spectacle like no other, against a stunning Italian backdrop . No wonder they call it "the most beautiful race in the world".
Just last February. a new client came to us with a dream to experience the 2025 Mille Miglia. All he needed was an eligible classic car, registration for the sold-out event, and the international logistical support to make it happen!
Providing a superb classic that was ready for a 1,500 km odyssey was the first challenge. Only cars that raced in the Mille Miglia prior to 1957 are eligible, and our client was absolutely thrilled when we were able to provide this qualifying Mercedes-Benz 190SL Roadster previously restored by Hemmels.
The Italian Job
Places in the Mille Miglia sell out up to a year in advance so getting a spot on the grid was the next obstacle.
Our friends at the Fast Lane Club came to the rescue with a pre-booked Registration and a logistics package that saved the day.
The 190SL was shipped to Italy, prepped by the team and badged, ready for the starting grid. Proud driver and passenger in #403 were on their way.
Along the way the support team were on hand for refueling and fettling - and posing for photos.
We take a bit of pride in claiming that the 190SL completed the four day race race, knowing other cars fell short. Now, #403 is on its way back to the UK to enjoy the summer here.
Meanwhile the Fast Lane Club aren't resting on their axles - they have just announced that they are the Main Sponsor of the 2026 Mille Miglia.
Our clients share a passion to experience the very best that life offers. Sure, we are proud to have a Hemmels car be showcased in the 1000 Miglia., but the real reward is knowing that we helped a client's dream come true.
